Apparently, No.24 Engine Co. was sent out on an unknown type Fire. They found a Bar with vacant apartments above well involved. They advised Fire Alarm to fill the rest of the Card and make it a Ch. 6 Fire. The Fire started in the basement and ran the walls until it broke out on the 2nd and 3rd floors at the rear of the building. BC 4 put in the Second Alarm due to the Fire making good headway. No. 28 Engine Co.,coming in on the Second, had trouble taking a Plug due to a car blocking it. Fire Alarm called Pittsburgh Police to tag and tow the car. BC 4 ordered all the Companies out and to go to a Defensive Mode. The Deputy arrived and took Command and reported there were no Exposures as BC 4 also reported. The Companies working had a bit of a hard time chasing the Hot Spots. After approx. 2 hours, the fire had still not been put under control.
