The House Bells rang and the Nite Lights came on at 0404 hrs. Fire Alarm reported that they were receiving Numerous Calls for a 3 Story Apartment Building on Fire. BC-2 reported seeing the fire while enroute and ordered the First Alarm Transfers. He put in the Second Alarm right after his initial Size Up. Pittsburgh EMS reported possible entraptment of a victim on the 3rd. floor. The Deputy,who had responded and assumed Command on the Second Alarm, advised that any Rescue Attempt could not be done due to very heavy Fire on the 3rd. floor. Primary and Secondary Searches were negative as I'm writing this. BC-2 who became the Operations Chief when the Deputy assumed Command, reported that the Step-Gun and an inch and a half line did an excellant job of proctecting and saving an Exposure on Side B. The Deputy put in a call to Fire Alarm to have BBI respond later this Am to Inspect and possibly condem the building and for the American Red Cross to respond to asist one person left homeless from the Fire. The Arson Squad responded and was on scene even before some of the First Alarm Companies arrived. C-Platoon has been getting their share of Fires as of late. At 0600 hrs. the Deputy reported that a victim was found alive in the bushes on Side D and ordered a Stokes Basket to assit the Medics who were alredy treating the injured man. The Deputy had no other information as to the mans condition.
