Fire Alarm received multiple calls for this medium size Warehouse. BC-2 reported heavy smoke on his way in from Oakland and No.6 Engine Company reported heavy fire on the roof in the rear of the Structure. BC-3,Chief Smiley, arrived on the scene and put in the Second Alarm. The fire was contained to the roof with no Interior Extension. The Deputy, who took Command on the Second Alarm, put in a Special Call to the City Shops to have the Fire Mechanic respond after 7 Engine blew one of the seals on it's pump, which happened after the Fire was brought Under Control. The Third District did a quick and excellent job as usual. Not much Fire Duty in the Third like in the good old days, but they still get their share. Now a days, Pittsburgh Police Zone 5 is getting the "Heavy Duty" that the Third District used to get.
