A neighbor reported a Fire on the Second Floor in the Vacant middle unit of a 4 Unit Row House. No.24 Engine Co. was in the vicinity and was on the Scene in a minute. One of the Pumpers reported that they had a "dead" hydrant. At least the Fire Gods waited until almost halftime of the Stiller Game to ply their trade. It seemed to me that Fire Alarm had some Probies workin that nite, but they still managed to make the First Alarm Transfers, put in the Second Alarm, and make all the notifications, etc. A Member of No.4 Truck Co.,who were venting the roof, fell backwards through a vent hole and suffered injuries to his back and ribs. He was Rescued from his Brothers from 4 Truck. The Arson Squad, who responded on the Initial Alarm, put in a call for the Health Dept. to respond and also for Animal Control to remove two cats who had perished in the Blaze. The Firemen made quick work out of this Fire. Even though the Structure had a Common Roof. One thing about Row House Fires.....they're nothin but trouble !!!!
